Fête de Saint Pierre Chanel à l'Institution Sainte Marie la Seyne sur Mer/..../ Saint Peter Chanel's feast in Institution Sainte Marie la Seyne sur Mer

La date était dans nos agendas,  nous avons préparé, nous avons annoncé, nous avons fêté, Pierre Chanel, Saint patron martyr de l'Océanie. Pour cet évènement, nous souhaitions réunir les 3 établissements scolaires: l'Institution Sainte Marie de la Seyne sur mer, l'Externat Saint Joseph d'Ollioules et le Cours Fénelon de Toulon, ainsi que tous les maristes, religieux et laïcs de l'aire toulonnaise. Nombreux sont venus pour célébrer cet évènement.

Samedi 12 Mai en fin d'après midi, notre chapelle ouvrait grand ses portes pour accueillir les familles et amis des élèves qui allaient recevoir le sacrement du baptême et de la première communion. Le père Provincial Hubert Bonnet-Eymard nous honorait de sa présence pour présider cette messe, entouré des membres de la communauté religieuse matiste en la personne des Pères, Soeurs maristes et Soeurs Missionnaires de la Société de Marie.

La présentation de Monsieur Jacques Bouteille, chef d'établissment de Sainte Marie, nous rappelait le thème de notre année "Donne-moi ta liberté" avec la figure de Saint Pierre Chanel, exemple d'une mission dans une vie donnée aux autres; suivait une célébration très recueillie, riche en couleurs et en chants.

La soirée s'est poursuivie autour d'un repas des îles très convivial, animé par les chants et danses d'élèves et de professeurs: quelle belle fête, avec toute la famille mariste!

The date was in our diaries, we prepared, announced, celebrated Saint Peter Chanel, martyr patron Saint of Oceania. For that event, we wished to gather the three Educational Establishments: Institution Sainte Marie la Seyne sur Mer, Externat Saint Joseph Ollioules, and Cours Fénelon Toulon,  and also all the Marist religious and lay persons around Toulon. A lot of people came to celebrate the event.

On Saturday May 12th at the end of the afternoon, our Chapel opened widely its doors to welcome the families and friends of the pupils who were going to be baptized and to make their first communion. Provincial Father Hubert Bonnet-Eymard honoured us with his presence as the main concelebrant of the mass; he was surrounded by members of the Marist Community, Fathers, Marist Sisters and Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary. 

The introduction made by Mr Jacques Bouteille, the Principal of Sainte Marie, reminded us our yearly theme "Give me your freedom", with the figure of Saint Peter Chanel, an example of a mission in a life given to the others; After that we had a very meditative celebration with many colours and songs.

The evening went on with a very friendly and exotic diner, with songs and dances by pupils and teachers: a marvelous party, with the whole Marist Family!
