Young artists' success in Blackburn /.../ Le succès de jeunes artistes à Blackburn

St Mary's Art Department is delighted to have learnt that all of its seven applicants for the prestigious Foundation Art course at Manchester Metropolitan University have received offers. It is quite unusual for so many students from the same establishment to be accepted.

The course offers the traditional route to studying Art and Design at Higher Education, which enables the students to experience and develop a wide variety of Art and Design techniques and media.

Andrea Westall, Head of Art, said: 'We are immensely proud of all our students' hard work. It is lovely to see that they are appreciated by other Art institutions. We were particularly delighted with the diverse portfolios that the students put together.'

The annual end of year art department exhibition will be held from 11 to 25 June at the Platform Gallery in Clitheroe.

Les sept élèves du St Mary's College à Blackburn qui avaient posé leur cadidature pour la prestigieuse formation artistique à la Manchester Metropolitan University ont tous été acceptés, et leurs professeurs en sont, bien sûr, ravis. Il est rare qu'un si grand nombre d'élèves du même établissement soit accepté.

Le programme de Manchester Metropolitan permet aux étudiants de pratiquer et de développer leurs compétences artistiques dans le contexte d'une large gamme de techniques et de médias.

Andrea Westall, chef du département d'art, a dit: 'Nos élèves ont travaillé très dur, et nous sommes tous très fiers d'eux. Il est bon de savoir que leur travail est apprécié par d'autres établissements artistiques. Nous félicitons les élèves surtout pour la diversité de leurs créations artistiques.'

A noter également que l'exposition annuelle du département d'art se déroulera du 11 au 25 juin à la Platform Gallery à Clitheroe.
