Dundalk - Christmas Carol Service /.../ Concert de Noël

Parents, students and staff of St Mary's College were treated to an array of festive songs at the annual carol service in the week before Christmas. The weeks of preparation by the students of the College and Music teacher Ms Mullen were reflected in the wonderful performances on the night. A magical candlelit setting added to the event with the artistic talents of students evident in the decorations skillfully created with the guidance of Art teacher Ms Collins. Readings were from the Gospel of Luke read by TY student Nicki Cumiskey and staff including Chaplains, Ms Reynolds and Fr Jimmy McElroy sm, and Deputy Principal Mr Lambe. Robert Mee Lucey, Bartlomieu Baran, Aaron Taylor all played solo instrumental pieces on the piano and the saxaphone while the First Year students gave a powerful rendition of 'The Little Drummer Boy'.

The beautiful crib, worked on by students of the College again with much help from Art teacher Ms Collins, shone brightly, reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas. It was a real community event treasured by all who attended. Thank you to all those in our school community who joined us in our Christmas celebration and thanks to the teachers who helped in the organisation of the night including the aforementioned members of the Music and Art department, Religion teacher Ms Shaw and Chaplains Ms Reynolds and Fr McElroy. It was a lovely evening and we are proud of all the students involved.

Dans la semaine avant Noël, les parents, les élèves, les professeurs et les personnels encadrants de St Mary's College se sont régalés d'un très beau concert de Noël - au programme une grande variété de chansons de Noël traditionnelles. Les performances étaient de très haute qualité, grâce aux semaines de préparation de la part des élèves et de Mme Mullins, professeur de musique. Les élèves ont démontré leurs talents artistiques en créant un lieu magique où brûlaient des cierges - de belles décorations artisanales qui avaient été produites sous la direction de Mme Collins, professeur d'art. Des lectures de l'Évangile selon Saint Luc ont été présentées par Nicki Cumiskey, élève de seconde, par les aumôniers, Mme Reynolds et le père Jimmy McElroy sm, et par M Lambe, proviseur adjoint. Robert Mee Lucey, Bartlomieu Baran, Aaron Taylor ont tous joué des pièces instrumentales (piano et saxophone) en solo, et les élèves de sixième nous ont offert une puissante interprétation de la chanson 'The Little Drummer Boy'.

Les élèves, aidés par Mme Collins, avaient préparé une très belle crèche de Noël qui brillait avec éclat pour nous rappeler la vraie signification de Noël. C'était un évènement très apprécié par tout le monde. Un grand merci à tous les membres de notre communauté éducative qui ont participé à notre célébration de Noël, et surtout aux professeurs qui l'ont organisée, Mme Mullins, Mme Collins,Mme Shaw, professeur de religion, et les aumôniers Mme Reynolds et le père Jimmy McElroy. C'était une belle soirée et nous sommes fiers de tous les élèves qui y ont participé.
